The success of learning cannot be separated from the teacher's role as an educator in the school environment. In the learning process, teachers are required to be able to motivate their students to create a conducive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Teachers must be able to motivate students, not only theoretically, but also practically in society.
The aims of this research are: 1. To obtain objective data regarding the role of subject teachers in motivating students' enthusiasm for learning in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 5 Satu Roof Doloksanggul Humbang Hasundutan Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year. subject teachers in motivating students' enthusiasm for learning in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Academic Year 2020/2021.
To achieve the research objectives above, a research approach was used, namely a qualitative approach. The research location is SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Academic Year 2020/2021. The data collection technique used was Questionnaire and Observation. Interviews and documentation.
The results of this research state that: 1. The ability to motivate/guide as a subject teacher at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul Humbang Hasundutan Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year is high with an average score of 3.21, 2. The ability to motivate/guide as a teacher Subjects have a significant (positive) relationship with student learning achievement at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Academic Year 2020/2021. This is proven by the correlation value (0.6282) (high category). 3. Student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul Humbang Hasundutan Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year are moderate, with an average score of 7.85.
