PENERAPAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PKN SISWA KELAS IX SMP NEGERI 5 SATU ATAP DOLOKSANGGUL KABUPATEN HUMBANG HASUNDUTAN TAHUN AJARAN 2020/ 2021

Abstract

Character is a person's character, character, morals or personality which is formed from the internalization of various policies (virtues) which are believed to be used as a basis for the way of seeing, thinking, behaving and acting. Character education is a system of instilling character values in students which includes the components: awareness, understanding, concern and high commitment to implementing these values, both towards God, oneself, others, and society and the nation as a whole, so that become a perfect human being according to his nature.

The formation of students' character with citizenship education learning is very related because it discusses the values of character formation that exist in everyday life.

The problem formulation in this research is “1. What is the understanding of class IX teachers at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul, Humbang Hasudnutan Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year regarding character education? 2021?, 3. What are the supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing character education in class IX PKN learning at SMP Negeri 5 One Roof Doloksanggul Humbang Hasudnutan Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year? "This research aims to describe and find out more about the character formation of students in class IX Citizenship Education learning at SMP Negeri 5 Satu Roof Doloksanggul.

This type of research is field research and this research is classified as qualitative descriptive research. Where researchers go directly to the field to see the conditions and environment to obtain the required data. For data collection purposes, researchers used questionnaire, observation and documentation methods.

The results of the research "character formation of students in class IX citizenship education subjects at SMP Negeri 5 Satu Roof Doloksanggul, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Academic Year 2020/2021" show that character formation is realized from learning citizenship education with the theme: Diversity of Indonesian Society in Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. , Meaning of Unity in Nationality, Principle of Unity in Ethnic, Religious, Racial and Inter-Group Diversity, Problems of Diversity in Indonesian Society, Efforts to Prevent Conflict of a SARA nature. Formation of this character in the learning process uses methods of habituation, example, punishment, advice, commands and prohibitions, creating a conducive, integrated and international atmosphere
